Instructions for Ticket Usage applied for :
(1) Customers who have purchased a JR Kyushu Rail Pass can use the JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking service to reserve a reserved seat on a train before exchanging it for a pass.
Advance reservations for reserved seats are available from 10:00 a.m. one month prior to the boarding date.
(2) Fee for reserved seats: Not included in the pass fare, you need to pay separately. Please pay directly at the booking site.
D&S train (sightseeing train) → 1,500 yen, Regular limited express → 1,000 yen (per seat)
*Children fare : 50% off the regular fare
*Fares for the limited express “36+3” vary depending on the section.
*Advance reservation fees for reserved seats must be paid by credit card directly at the time of seat selection on the JR Kyushu website.

Q: Do I have to reserve a seat?
A: Please check first whether the train you want to board is “all reserved” (all seats reserved).
→If it is “All Reserved Seating”: Seat reservation is required (extra charge)
Before exchanging your Pass, you can make an online reservation on JR Kyushu's seat reservation site.
After exchanging your Pass or when online reservations are not available, please show your Pass at a station ticket counter and inquire about seat availability and reservations.
→For trains with “Non-reserved seats”: Non-reserved seats cannot be reserved in advance. You can sit if there is a vacancy on the day. We cannot check the availability of vacancies.
Q: Can I purchase a reserved seat ticket at the door without an advance reservation?
A: You can buy reserved seats at the station if they are available on the day.
However, popular trains are sometimes fully booked in advance, so we recommend booking in advance if you want to make sure you can ride on your preferred date.
